Mark Zappone
President

Zappone was born and raised in South Jersey. He graduated from Mainland Regional High School in 1988. He later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Flagler College in Florida. There, he was an avid member of their surf team, and, upon graduation, coached the surf club and taught psychology classes at his alma mater. He ultimately received graduate degrees from Skidmore College and University of Pennsylvania in psychology and psychiatric care. Mark is board certified as a psychiatric professional and entered private practice in 2007 with an office on New Road in Northfield, New Jersey. Mark is also currently an adjunct professor at the local junior college and teaches psychology classes there, as well as at the University of Pennsylvania.
A cancer survivor himself, Mark has known Dean since being on the high school surf team with Dean. Mark has traveled all over the world surfing and partaking in environmental and peace activism. He has a unique perspective that is truly an asset to the Foundation. Mark joined the board as a trustee in 2004 and resides in Linwood with his two children.
